Pietra, historical winery owned by the family Ferretti, develops on 50 ha of which 7 ha are vineyards. It was the grandfather of the current owner, Ferruccio Ferretti who, along with 25 other producers, founded the consortium for the protection of Brunello. Podere Pietrafocaia, around which stretch the vineyards, accomodates this family for more than one hundred years.
The family’s direct involvement translates into wines that directly express their prized terrain of origin—the calcareous clays particular to the southwest slope of Montalcino. The three generations who collaborate make it possible the combination of expertise and tradition, ancient methods and new perspectives, guaranteeing quality at all levels.
